Armed guards on a Danish freighter off Yemen have repelled pirates in a brief exchange of fire, according to maritimedanmark.dk.
The Singapore-flagged Brattingborg, which is owned by the Danish shipping company Nordana, was 25 nautical miles off the Yemeni coast when pirates in two speedboats attacked on Thursday, but gave up their attempt when fire was returned from the vessel.
