The Tibet Support Committee in Denmark has welcomed the Dalai Lama’s decision to relinquish his temporal authority over Tibetans in exile, saying it is a natural step towards democracy.
“We knew it was on its way. It is a necessary development because the people are going through a democratisation process. Up to now he has simply remained as leader for the sake of the people,” says Support Committee Chairman Anders Højmark.
