Majority support for europact

Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen will be attending an EU summit later this week with a secure Parliamentary majority for Denmark’s membership of the europact, following intense weekend negotiations between the government and opposition.

The agreement, between the government parties, the Social Democratic, Socialist People’s and Social Liberal parties comes despite strong opposition from the Danish People’s Party and the Liberal Alliance and following written guarantees from Lars Løkke Rasmussen on Danish wages and fiscal policy.
