The Heritage Agency of Denmark and the National Museum have decided to cover one of Denmark’s historical monuments, the UNESCO World Heritage Jelling Stones in Jutland.

The decision to cover the outdoor monuments and their runic inscriptions comes following several years of discussion as to the effects of acid rain, and not least a recent case in which a young man temporarily disfigured the stones with graffiti.
