The Franco-German channel Arte, which has sponsored Denmark’s Director Lars von Trier for the past 15 years, is reconsidering its support for the Danish film maker following his controversial remarks on Nazism at the Cannes Film Festival.
“We know it was said for fun. But it was simply not funny. We found Trier’s statements crude and very shocking. We need to reconsider whether we can continue to support his films,” says Arte Film Director Michel Reilhac.
