Denmark and Spain have decided to register a new financial institution in a tax haven rather than in Kenya, where the fund’s operational headquarters is to be located.
The African Guarantee Fund, which is to begin operations in the latter half of this year, is supported by Denmark, Spain and the African Development Bank to the tune of USD 50 million and was agreed by the three parties at the Africa Commission meeting in Copenhagen in 2009.
