Denmark was bombarded with no fewer than 17,702 bolts of lightning on Tuesday, particularly in eastern parts of the country according to Denmark’s Meteorological Institute (DMI).
“Areas primarily hit were Falster, up through central Zealand and North Zealand west of Copenhagen where there was also torrential rain with between 15 and 30 mm of rain in a short period of time,” says DMI Duty Meteorologist Olaf Mathiessen.
