The EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has written to all 27 member countries warning them against undermining the Schengen agreement in what senior Brussels diplomats say is a warning to Denmark, according to Jyllands-Posten.
The letter, which Jyllands-Posten has obtained, comes as Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen makes his way to an EU summit where he is expected to come under pressure to explain Denmark’s plans for permanent customs border controls.
