The European Commission is calling on Denmark to stop the sale of snuff, which is only permitted in Sweden as a result of an exemption from the directive for traditional reasons.
“According to Article 8 of the Tobacco Directive, snuff, including moist loose snuff is forbidden in the EU and Denmark does not have an exemption. The Danish authorities must introduce this ban,” says EU Commission Spokesman Frederic Vincent.
