Finland’s Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja (SocDem) has questioned Denmark’s new border control regime, with suggestions that Denmark is building increasingly high walls around itself, according to Finland’s main Swedish-language newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet.
“I hope that Nordic cooperation will not be affected. I’m not speaking as a government minister, but with my experience from the Nordic Council I can say that on several occasions we have tried to find out whether Denmark wants to be in Nordic cooperation at all,” Tuomioja said in Pori, where he and Development Aid Minister Heidi Hautala presented the new Finnish government’s foreign policy platform.
