An early morning operation by some 50 police officers cleared demonstrators from an area of woodland where they have been preventing wood clearance to make way for a wind turbine research centre, according to DR.
Demonstrators took up position in Østerild Klitplantage two weeks ago in order to prevent the Danish Nature Agency from felling trees to make way for a wind turbine research centre for turbines of up to 250 metres. The project is one supported by the government, Danish People’s Party, Socialist People’s Party and Social Democracts.
