Denmark out of recession

The Danish economy grew by 1.0 per cent in the Second Quarter of 2011, with revised figures for the First Quarter showing the country has not been in a technical recession, according to Statistics Denmark.

With the country in the throes of an election campaign, Wednesday’s GDP growth figures had been eagerly awaited by both sides of the political divide, with the economy as a central issue in the campaign up to Sept. 15 elections.
