July saw a further 1,000 people losing their jobs taking the overall number of unemployed people in Denmark up to 163,000 or 6.1 per cent of the labour force, according to Statistics Denmark.
The overall figure for unemployment includes those in activation projects who are ready to join the labour force, as well as those who are not in activation projects. The majority of the increase in unemployment is among those in activation who are ready to join the labour force.
