“This was the decision in my life that I have regretted the most. I wish we had never sailed into the Arabian Sea. But when we took our decision, it was well thought through,” parent and yachtsman Jan Quist Johansen tells Politiken in the first interview with the Danish family that was held hostage by Somali pirates for six months.
In the interview which is to be published in Politiken tomorrow, family members explain why they decided to sail through pirate-infested waters and how they managed to get through a long and frightening kidnap.
