IC4 trains grounded

The Danish national railways carrier DSB has immediately grounded its fleet of Italian-built Intercity IC4 trains a week after the brakes on two them failed at red lights, DSB has announced.

Following a brake failure on Nov. 7 in Funen, the maximum speed for the trains was reduced from 180 km/h to 140 km/h , but after it became clear that another similar incident took place on Nov. 4 at Høje Taastrup in the Copenhagen area, the trains have been grounded.
