Former Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen appears to be softening his approach to negotiations with the new centre-left government, suggesting his party is prepared to compromise on the issue of increased taxes.

On election night Løkke Rasmussen said that the Liberal Party would not be party to raising taxes and duties, but the party is now prepared to seek influence to minimise costs for Danish families, according to Berlingske.
