Denmark will support Palestine if it proposes an upgrade to its status at the United Nations General Assembly, Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal says following a meeting with the Palestinian senior negotiator Nabil Sha’ath in Copenhagen.
“Denmark is closely following the Palestinian application for membership of the United Nations. We also, however, fully realise what the result will be if the application is voted on in the UN Security Council,” Søvndal says in a statement.
