Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal has joined the growing list of EU countries calling for stricter sanctions against Iran, possibly also including an oil embargo.

“My immediate reaction is that we should be willing to go far in order to force the Iranians back to the negotiating table. That is vital in preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power,” Søvndal says on his way into an EU meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels.
