The former Liberal Party Tax Minister Troels Lund Poulsen has announced that he is applying for leave of absence from Parliament as he feels unable to carry out his normal Parliamentary duties while questions remain in connection with possible Tax Ministry involvement in investigations of Helle Thorning-Schmidt’s (SocDem) personal tax affairs.

Lund Poulsen’s announcement yesterday came after the tabloid Ekstra Bladet revealed in its Sunday editions that it had been contacted by the tax minister’s special adviser Peter Arnfeldt 14 months ago with an offer to hand over the content of a Tax Authority report on the private tax affairs of the Thorning-Schmidt-Kinnock family.
