After years of trying to get their own parental leave system, it now seems that Denmark’s 150,000-odd self-employed will be able to take the same parental leave as salary-earners, according to Berlingske.
The centre-left government is proposing to introduce a new parental leave system under which all self-employed people will pay a certain regular amount and on the birth of a child receive payment for parental leave from a fund, up to a certain amount.
