Denmark’s Social Democrats have returned one of their lowest ever opinion poll results, while the Liberal Party has increased its following and is now at a level higher than all three coalition parties put together.
The Green’s poll for Børsen shows Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt’s party on 18.5 per cent of the vote, shedding a full three percentage points compared to its result in January’s Green’s poll. An election now, the poll suggests, would sweep the centre-right into power with 97 seats in the 179-seat Folketing compared to the centre-left’s 78 seats.
