Minister for Social Affairs Karen Hækkerup is looking to modernise Denmark’s divorce laws by making it easier for couples to get an immediate divorce rather than having to wait for six months or a year of separation.
“The marriage laws are out of date and I can see that they need to be revised,” the minister says in response to criticism of the current system.
