Europe’s future is on the menu this evening when Angela Merkel hosts François Hollande for dinner at the Bundeskanzleramt in Berlin.
The fact that the meeting takes place on the same day that Hollande is inaugurated is a gesture in itself. It is reassuring for Europe that the two countries place such a high priority on their common agenda.
