The production of smaller wind turbines in China is no longer profitable for Vestas, causing the company to close its factory at Hohhot in Inner Mongolia and lay off some 350 employees.
“Despite closing production at Hohhot, Vestas continues to be heavily involved in China and believes in long-term growth for the wind energy industry in China,” Vestas writes in a Stock Exchange announcement.
