An earth tremor measuring 4.4 on the open Richter scale was registered early this morning in the Kattegat between Denmark and Sweden, prompting eastern Danes and southern Swedes to contact the geological authorities. No damage has been reported in either Sweden or Denmark.

“We woke up with the house shaking and the walls creaking,” Anne and Mathias Elm from Ängelholm in southern Sweden told the Swedish news agency TT.
