Equality Minister Manu Sareen is not prepared to legislate to force cafés, restaurants and other public places to allow women to breast-feed their babies in establishments, as proposed by the Red Green Party.

The Red Greens put forward their proposal following a decision by the Equal Treatment Board, which ruled last week that a café owner had the right to refuse a woman who was breast-feeding her baby.
