Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal has confirmed that the United Nations has invited Denmark to send peacekeeping troops to the Golan Heights.
”Denmark and several other countries have been approached by the United Nations to contribute to UNDOF - the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force in the Golan Heights,” Søvndal says, adding that the request comes following Austria’s decision to withdraw its contingent.
