The Kurdish television station Roj-TV is appealing a judgment by the High Court last week that withdrew the company’s broadcasting licence and imposed 10 million kronersworth of fines on the station’s backers for supporting the Kurdish separatist organisation PKK.
The PKK, whose insurgents have been looking to carve an independent Kurdish area out of southeastern Turkey, is on the EU’s list of terrorist organisations.
