Fifteen Greenpeace activists, including Danish Anne Mie Roer Jensen, have been charged with piracy today in Russia, with Greenpeace Denmark urging Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal to get involved in the issue.
“As foreign minister, Villy Søvndal should defend Danish citizens’ rights and their right to civil disobedience,” says Greenpeace Spokesman Jon Burgwald, adding he expects the remaining 15 activists to be charged later in the day.
