When the first-quarter passenger numbers were revealed in April 2024, Ulrik Wilbek (Venstre), chairman of Midtjyllands Airport and Mayor of Viborg Municipality, was quite clear:
»If we get to next year with 17 million in support and the passenger numbers are still this low, we won’t keep flying. We’ll have to shut down the airport.«
