The Danish-American friendship association Rebild National Park Society has decided that this year’s Rebildfest will proceed without official political representation from the USA, according to the president of the Rebild National Park Society.

For over a century, Rebild Bakker has been the setting for the world’s largest and oldest celebration of the USA’s Independence Day outside its borders. Every year, Americans with Danish roots and Danes with ties to the USA have flocked to the North Jutland heathland to mark the friendship between the two countries.
