In the last 20 years, the world’s oceans have darkened to such an extent that it has caught the attention of scientists across the globe. However, none of them can currently predict the consequences of this darkening.

And one place particularly stands out when looking at an illustration of the ocean areas that have become less bright. On the world map, the Baltic Sea appears as a bright red spot in the middle. It is here, in the waters around Denmark, that the change is most apparent.
