It is not an everyday occurrence for a blue and a red mayor to jointly provide emergency assistance to citizens who are hopelessly stuck in the activation programs, job trials, and resource courses of the employment system.

However, in the Municipality of Copenhagen, employment mayor Jens-Kristian Lütken (V) and social mayor Karina Vestergård Madsen (EL) are in complete agreement that enough is enough when it comes to the 2,700 citizens who have lived on welfare and social benefits for more than 10 years without gaining significant footing in the job market.
