For years, efforts have been made to solve the problem of nurse shortages by encouraging more nurses to work full-time. Nearly half of the country’s nurses work part-time, much to the employers’ dismay.

Now, it may become even harder to get more nurses to work longer hours. Working part-time is set to become even more attractive, as part-time employees will now receive higher pay for overtime.
