There was a large turnout in the courtroom on Tuesday, when the Western High Court heard the appeal in the case against a now 20-year-old man who in July last year was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the murder and rape of a 13-year-old girl.

The killing took place on March 11, 2024, at the district heating plant in Hjallerup, where the 13-year-old girl and Elias Shegow, then 17, had arranged to meet after she had broken up with him shortly beforehand.
