Rarely has a bill raised as many human-rights questions as the government’s proposal for control measures on suspicion of radicalization, a legal expert says.
The government’s controversial bill, which would allow authorities to place people convicted of terrorism as well as people with no prior convictions, under surveillance and control if they are deemed to pose a risk to Danish society, appears to be on a direct collision course with human rights law.
That is the warning from several legal experts ahead of the proposal’s introduction in the coming parliamentary session.
