Most municipal chief executives warn that misinformation is straining dialogue with citizens as public trust declines. A new joint initiative aims to revive local democracy before it is too late.
The plan was to hold the public meeting on emergency preparedness in ’Borgerportalen’, the usual venue at Allerød City Hall with room for 150 people.
But instead of, as usual, simply announcing the meeting on the municipality’s website, Facebook and in the local paper, the Municipality of Allerød sent an invitation directly to every resident via eBoks.
