More than 1.5 million Ukrainians have fled the war in their home country. Many of them are trying to catch a train out of Lviv where dogs, cats, plush toys and children crowd into the cars before the whistle rings out for one last goodbye.

On the inside of the foggy train window, two drawn hearts touch each other. The distance between them is about to grow. Soon, the train will depart from platform 5 in the Lviv railway station for Poland.
In a long column of train cars brimming with vacant stares, some eyes still see, still try to cling on to something.
