The German government has announced that it is postponing the development of a railway link in connection with the new Fehmarn Tunnel, according to Der Nordschlewiger.
According to the report, Traffic Minister Peter Ramsauer has decided to reduce planned government investment in new infrastructure in Germany by 25 per cent due to the economic crisis.
The development of the railway link to the Fehmarn Tunnel is one of the projects that has been earmarked for postponement until after 2015.
It is not immediately clear what effect the postponement will have on the overall Fehmarn project to link Denmark and Germany across the Fehmarn Belt.
