An EU Commission decision to force TV2 to pay back over a billion kroner to the state was wrong, a European Court judgement said today. The decision does not mean that the state has to repay funds to TV2, but that two other cases involving repayment by TV2 are unlikely to succeed.
The European Court rejected claims that TV2 had received illegal subsidies and at the same time annulled a 2004 Commission decision, which it said was forthcoming because the Commission had not investigated the issue to the full.
