If Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen leaves his post before his term is up, a clear majority of the electorate wants new elections, according to a Catinét opinion poll carried out for Ritzau.

Fogh Rasmussen (Lib) has been the target of widespread conjecture that he is a candidate for the secretary-generalship of the NATO Alliance, and that Finance Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Lib) is preparing to take over the premiership without an election.
