Norway accepts critically ill children from Gaza while Denmark declines

Astrid Opstrup remembers the little girl: She was under a year old. Maybe 8-9 months. But it’s hard to say because she was very thin and had sunken eyes. She had difficulty eating and keeping the food down. Every two or three hours, she received food through a tube and fluids. Most of the time, she lay with her mother in a hospital bed at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the southern part of Gaza.

The girl was born with Down syndrome, had a heart defect and needed surgery to survive. But such operations cannot be performed in Gaza at the moment.
