I grew up as an only child. Maybe I heard something about a half-brother, but if I did, it was just a passing comment that was never explained.

My parents had me after ten years of miscarriages and IVF attempts. »You were a wanted child,« my mom often says. Their world revolved around me—even after their divorce. But despite their attention, I sometimes felt lonely.
