If sending your children to daycare and kindergarten in Copenhagen becomes free, it will be a huge win for families with young children in the city. But this significant financial injection will also have other consequences.

Free childcare will also provide many people who don’t live particularly expensively with a substantial economic surplus. And it will put even more pressure on housing prices in Copenhagen.
