Children in Denmark’s day nurseries and kindergartens will soon have more adult company.

In the government’s budget proposal for next year, expected this week, 1.1 billion kroner will be allocated to increase staffing levels by nearly 1,400 employees in daycare institutions. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (Socialdemokratiet, S) shared this news ahead of the party’s summer group meeting on Tuesday.
