If you mix an independent single life with sourdough and an expensive apartment, you have the recipe for what many city dwellers would call the good life. But that’s a misconception. In reality, happiness resides in smaller cities and where researchers once drew a thick line on the map of Denmark, dubbing it ’the rotten banana.’

This is revealed in a new report from Prospekt, an independent think tank focusing on community and ethics. The report shows that smaller communities, especially in West Jutland, score top marks in quality of life.
