A majority of Denmark’s youth do not believe that they can understand politics or contribute to the debate. We have visited one of the places where many particularly feel sidelined.

Young people have low democratic self-confidence

There are wires tangled on the tables, surrounded by young men. With screwdrivers and pliers, they prod at a construction of buttons and switches built into a ring binder. As they try to make something light up, the conversation turns to politics:

»Those election posters remind me a bit of circus posters«, says 17-year-old Laurits Rasmussen.
