In recent years, international studies have indicated that young people in Western countries are having less sex than before—a trend referred to in the United States as a ’sex recession.’ Experts in Denmark have also spoken about a generation that prefers swiping to hooking up.

However, a new report from Sex & Samfund, ’Sex Life – Youth Report 2025,’ paints a different picture. The numbers show that young Danes are still having sex, and most are satisfied with it. They also feel secure in the culture of consent and have a clear understanding of boundaries.
