Freedom of expression in Denmark is under pressure when so many are afraid that criticizing authorities and politicians could have consequences, according to Amnesty International.

Four out of ten Danes are afraid to speak their mind

More than four out of ten citizens in Denmark – 41 percent – fear that publicly criticizing authorities could have personal consequences for them. And 38 percent of citizens are worried that criticizing politicians could have repercussions.

This is revealed in a survey conducted by the analysis institute Verian for the organization Amnesty International Denmark.
