Now it’s that time of year again. The national pastime of ’tax refunds’ begins.

Last year, 3.8 million citizens collectively received DKK 25.4 billion back because they had overpaid their taxes in 2024. This amounts to an average refund of about DKK 6,700. Another 800,000 taxpayers had to pay DKK 7.8 billion in back taxes.
